The insurance benefit will be paid by the insurance company to the client’s account specified in the claim notification. Only in the event of the insured person’s death will the benefit be paid to the Home Credit account. The insurance benefit will be used to repay the loan.

When should I notify my insurance company about an insured event?

Don’t wait for anything. Contact the insurance company as soon as you can.

How long does it take to settle a claim?

The insurance company tries to settle claims as quickly as possible. The statutory time limit for settling an insured event is no more than 3 months since it was reported.

Who will be paid the money in case of an insured event?

The insurance company will pay the insurance benefit to the account number specified by you when you reported the insured event. In the event of death, the insurance benefit will be sent to Home Credit and used to pay the remaining debt.

I’m reporting an insured event that happened abroad. What do I do if the documentation is in a foreign language?

In this case, you need to have the document translated into Czech by a person authorised to translate official documents.

Can I stop paying loan instalments when I report an insured event?

No. You are obliged to continue to pay your loan instalments after reporting the insured event and for the entire duration of the insured event. That’s because the insurance company sends the insurance benefit to you and you can then use it to pay your instalments.

When can I set up this insurance?

The insurance can be set up when concluding the loan agreement or additionally by telephone or written agreement. In both cases, you must comply with the conditions for the arrangement of the insurance, choose the insurance package and confirm all mandatory statements.

What should I do if I need to change my insurance policy?

What should I do in the case of an insured event?

You will need to fill in the Insured Event Report which you can find in the Downloads section at the bottom of the page. Describe the insured event and its scope truthfully and submit the form together with the required attachments to Maxima pojišťovna, a.s., Italská 1583/24, 120 00 Praha – Vinohrady.

How can I postpone instalments?

Immediately report the insured event (e.g. incapacity for work, loss of employment) to the insurance company by calling +420 542 527 528 and ask for postponement. If the insurance company asks for evidence of the insured event, provide the relevant documents (e.g. a copy of the certificate of incapacity for work, a copy of your registration at the Labour Office). After the postponement, Home Credit will contact you with more information.
